Course Testimonials
This is a project of
We started Hoodzpah in 2011 after one of us was fired and the other was laid off. We were unhirable on paper.
But we knew we had the design skills if we could just figure out a way to market them. We started Hoodzpah over a weekend (made a logo and whipped up a Wordpress site). We forgot to file paperwork and didn't know much of anything. But we were eager to learn. We connected with smart creatives and entrepreneurs online and offline, and tried to absorb as much as we could through listening, research, and trial and error.
As we dialed in our processes, learned the ropes, and shamelessly promoted ourselves, we grew our client based, gained confidence, and eventually began working with dream clients. We wrote this book to demystify the whole process of running your own business (whether freelancing part time or running a studio full time). It's hard, but not impossible. Not at all.
This book and course contains everything we wish we knew going in to business for ourselves. Actionable steps, helpful insights, and worksheets to guide you through budgeting and pricing.
We know it's tough times out there right now. But as companies shrink internal creative teams, they'll be seeking qualified contractors to help them fill the gaps in between. That's where great freelancers and studios can thrive with solid systems and procedures to do so.
We hope this book and course give you that roadmap and confidence you need. Have any questions? Reach out! We'd love to hear from you: info@hoodzpahdesign.com.
All the best,
Jen Hood and Amy Hood
